Compatibility
Does my phone support eSIM?
Most phones from 2019 onward support eSIM. You need one that is eSIM-ready and carrier-unlocked.
- iPhone XS / XR or newer
- Google Pixel 3 or newer
- Samsung Galaxy S20 or newer
- Many other eSIM phones
Your phone must be carrier-unlocked. If it came on a contract, check with your operator.
Check in ten seconds
- Open Settings → General → About
- Scroll down and look for EID
- If you see an EID, your iPhone supports eSIM
- Open Settings → Network & internet → SIMs
- Look for Add eSIM
- If it’s there, your phone is ready

What is a Shpper eSIM?
A digital SIM you install on your phone from the Shpper app. It gives you mobile data abroad without roaming charges from your home operator. Nothing to post, nothing to swap.
When does my plan start?
When you first use data on it, not when you buy it and not when you install it. So you can set everything up at home before you fly.
Do I keep my normal number?
Yes. Your normal SIM stays in your phone for calls and messages, and the Shpper eSIM handles data.
Can I install it before I travel?
Yes, and you should. Installing needs an internet connection, and it doesn’t start your plan.
Connected, but no internet?
Three settings fix almost every case: turn Data Roaming on, make the Shpper line your mobile data line, and set the APN to globaldata.
Changing phones?
Contact us before you delete the eSIM from your old phone. A QR code only installs once, so we check first whether your eSIM can move.
